The heaviest-bodied tongs in the range. A thicker bamboo build takes the wobble out of the arms, which is what a full serving of pasta or a loaded bowl of salad asks for. The inner faces are recessed into a shallow cradle so a tangle of noodles sits supported instead of pinched, the ends are forked to get under slippery food, and the whole tool folds back on itself to lie flat in a drawer.

Why it is built this way

Four notes from the workshop that shaped it, node by node.

A Thicker Body, Steadier Hand

Extra material through the arms takes the flex out of the tool, which is what you want when the load is a whole portion rather than a slice of toast. Tossing a bowl of greens does not twist the arms out of line.

Cradle Grooves on the Inside

The inner faces are hollowed into a shallow trough that holds food while the arms close. Long noodles, bread, fruit and larger bites sit in the groove instead of sliding sideways out of a flat grip.

Forked Ends for Slippery Work

The tips split into forks, which hook under food that a flat edge skids across - oiled pasta, dressed greens, a stubborn wedge of fruit. It is the difference between lifting a portion and chasing it.

Reverse Fold for the Drawer

The arms fold back against each other, so almost twelve inches of tong stores flat beside the spatulas rather than propping the drawer open. That fold is what makes this length workable in a small kitchen, an RV or a camp box.
